Best of Home Decor Books

This is my list of best home decor books. Maybe one day I will host a book club for my favorites, but until then I wanted a space to collect the books I love and give credit to these talented authors that have helped me grow as a designer.

I’ve added little reviews to add value and context to each book. I hope this is a valuable resource for you.

Best of Home Decor Books

Cozy Minimalist Home by Mcquillin Smith– Mcquillin has a unique way of teaching home decorating. She is simple and clear. If you buy only one book, let it be this one.

All Things Lovely by Jenn Johnson-I did this book with a small group and it was so sweet and powerful. Really blends Christ in you to your home and touches on all areas of life. Lots of things stuck from this one!

Home Body by Joanna Gaines– Need I say more? This started it all. The power we have to decorate our homes on purpose. Also, this one I say is a must have!

The Art of Home by Shea Mcgee– Classy and informative. I do think you have to know your style a little more to fully appreciate this book, but if you want a little more, this one is very inspirational.

House Rules by Myquillyn Smith– Same author as “Cozy Minimalist” but broken down by rules rather than rooms. Great addition to help you learn to create balance and how to put what where. She really makes decorating easy.

The Home Edit Book & Workbook– With caution, this is an inspirational book for organizing. However, I do not suggest organizing by color (except books). See more about my method of organizing here, but great ideas none the less.

The Decorator in you

The decorator in you is a learner. Home decorators usually have a gift, but they also are educated. A little knowledge takes you a long way in your home and inspiration doesn’t hurt either. Gift yourself a new book, grab coffee, and sit a while. I promise you will be inspired, empowered, and motivated to grasp the challenges before you and create a home you love.

It’s time for your HOME RESET.

Until next time,
