how I got Here

Why I Love What I Do

I have been decorating my whole life. When I was younger I would rearrange my room over and over. Anytime my mom got furniture or need curtains, I remember and just as excited as her. As I grew older I was very opinionated about how I decorated and this was of course before Pinterest. I loved colors and how they looked together and creating a room that was mine.

However, with interior design in my heart, I had little resource and support for college. I completed one semester but was not able to keep up with the financial aspect of school and work, so I quit. Ultimately, I gave up my dreams and began school for cosmetology. This was a much shorter time span and in under $4,000 I had a career.

My days in the Salon were so fun and filled with great clients. I was successful at hair because I understood what my clients wanted and how to get them just that.

As much as I loved what I did, I wasn’t passionate about hair, just the people! When covid rocked the industry, I began to rethink what I was doing and why. I was passionate about interior design. It was undeniable. I would do home design all day and night and never tire of it- so I made a change. a tough one.

I quit my salon job and pursued design school to learn the art of decor. It is intriguing to me how much visually changing a few things can change everything and I soon realized, I wish I had learned this sooner. I wanted women to know how to decorate their homes and not for big price tag. Everyone deserves a beautiful home and know how to create a space that tells a story and holds an experience.

That’s when the blog was born. I hope the content you find here empowers you to create a home on purpose.

You, My Friend

have come to the right place

I hope you stay awhile and discover what home decor looks like for your home. Trust the process and you will have a home you love on purpose.

Home is a place of safety and rest. A place to be yourself in a world that is so demanding and expectant. Creating a home is not about the decor as much as it is for creating an experience that will heal and love.
