Faith Life
God has a plan for you! He has a template we can follow that will produce fruit in our lives and fulfill the will of the Father in us. Our faith life has to be the highest priority. Fall in love with Jesus and get to know him and your life will never be the same. He’s a good Father.
Here are a few things I include in my faith life:
- Time in Prayer
- Read the Bible
- Build relationships with other believers
- Visit church
- Sabbaths
FAITH LIFE BLOG RECAPS
Having a relationship with God is pretty simple. We overcomplicate it. If you intentionally strengthen your faith life, you will know God in a whole new way. Our part is to know, have faith, be obedient, and trust. His job is the rest.

Relationship with God over religion
I’ve recently had an encounter with God that changed how I spend time with him and live my life. It wasn’t new information but opened my eyes to blind spots that had snuck in over busy schedules and the day-to-day tasks. Overwhelmed and exhausted one day I asked God this:
What’s the point of praying, if you aren’t going to change or do anything about my prayers?!
And his still quiet whisper said this, “What’s the point? Me. I’m the point. Do you want me, or do you want what I can do for you because I want to be more than that to you.”
That morning it didn’t sink in what God was speaking or that he had even spoken. I was showing up to check my good Christian girl box on prayer. CHECK. Days of processing and showing up to pray and I began to realize that he was wanting to me to know him as a Father not only as my God.
I want you to know him as a Father. Not the one that hurts you or can’t keep his promises, but the one that has a capacity to love you perfectly and wants what’s best for you. He is your protector and deliverer and so much more than a God that works like Santa Clause.
God is so deep. Whether you have known God for 5 minutes or 50 years, there’s more to know. If I spend 8 million hours with him, there’s more. He’s bigger, deeper, wider, and more. We can always know him better through His word and time with him.
However, I’ve challenged myself to treat the Lord like I would a relationship on earth. I have to see him, spend time with him, get to know him more, and love what he loves. This relationship cannot be one sided. It’s both giving and receiving.
Giving and Receiving
It also isn’t just serving. I used to satisfy the box of the Lord by serving others and serving is a very powerful thing. It’s a good thing and blesses both you and the receiver. But serving does not satisfy your portion for the Lord. You cannot out give the need to just be at his feet with your alabaster jar.
If your walk with the Lord is new or dry, don’t let your absence or condemnation keep you from showing up. God is at the door knocking and waiting for you to answer. He will keep showing up like a gentleman waiting for you to draw near. He doesn’t want to remind you of everything you did this week or how hypocritical you are. It’s simple. Draw near to God and He WILL DRAW NEAR to you.
If we put God first in our lives, choices, plans, and home, His Word says that everything else will be given to us. Our part is surrender fully to a Lord we can trust.
